1. photovoltaic modules (short: PV modules)

Photovoltaic modules make an important contribution to saving natural resources and offer an environmentally friendly way of generating electrical energy.

As part of a research project, KL-megla® GmbH in Eitorf researched a new small-surface adhesive fastening for thin-film PV modules. They found the solution in a combined adhesive-clamp holding system in a ring form. The innovative fastening system stands out from the state of the art in several respects.

2. glass carrier with reinforcement – prestressed glass carrier

In glass construction engineering, glass girders are being used more and more as load-bearing, transparent constructions. As part of a research project, KL-megla® GmbH, Eitorf, is researching a new prestressed glass beam system. The aim of the project is to increase the load-bearing capacity of a glass carrier by combining laminated safety glass (LSG) with a tempering system made of steel.

The required redundancy of construction elements can be decisively improved by the material bond between the brittle glass and the ductile steel as a proven method. After incorporating the first experiences with the implementation, a general building approval is sought for the reinforced glass girders, which replaces an approval in individual cases.
